As a vegetarian, I never thought I would ever attend a pig roast... well... it's happening now. I have to post quickly :)
Today's story was written by a good friend of mine. Enjoy!

This is my dog. His name is Rusty. He has also been known as Russel, the strong silent type. And he really is rather silent! Barely a bark from him until a stranger comes to the door.
We got Rusty a month after my father passed away. We were all feeling pretty lost... and my oldest brother decided that he needed a companion. My mom went with my two oldest brothers to go look for a dog. Rusty and his brother's were rescues. They were a few months old and had come from a kill shelter somewhere outside of New York.
Looking at my dog, it isn't hard to see why he was chosen; but it wasn't his adorable looks that made my brother decide to go with him. It was the fact that he was eating his own poop.
That's right, everyone. My dog was chosen because he ate his poo. :)
He's a great dog! And I would love to talk more about him some other weekend. That's all for now, folks!

First Saturday post!
Okay, so the weekends are supposed to be kind of special. I was hoping to have a few things lined up... but it hasn't happened yet. Weekend posts will either be me doing something different, a Shorter Stories Topic Weekend (hopefully next week will start this), or someone else's fantastic writing. Today, I'm gonna talk about my dog.

Jake
Title: Jake
Word Count: 116
Story Notes: Just a strange, sad little story I wrote about a corpse.

Story Notes: Just a strange, sad little story I wrote about a corpse.
A lifeless body lay on the muddy ground. When he was alive, his name was Jake. Jake had friends and lovers. He had a family that cared about him. He had a dog named Champ and an aquarium full of tropical fish. Jake loved books. He loved to be lost in a story; to stay up all night wondering what become of the characters now that the story was over. He dreamed of becoming something; becoming someone.
The body that was once Jake didn’t dream. It didn’t love. It didn’t feel. It didn’t realize or even care that the story of Jake’s life was over. It just lay there still as the dead in the mud.
It's 3am and I'm making my Friday post!
Happy Friday, everyone! I decided to post now, just in case I forget to post until late this night (again).

The boy is lost
He wonders unnoticed
People too caught in their day to day lives
The boy is abandoned
A child forgotten
No mother has he to hold him ‘til morning
To chase way demons when the nightmares arrive
It's almost 9pm and I haven't updated... wow! We're sure off to a good start!
I completely forgot to update this thing. The day was so busy! Blogging was the last thing on my mind... sorry to my one reader.
